Empact arose from a deep empathy for people experiencing homelessness. I wanted to find a way to utilize technology to connect these individuals with resources local to them. For this application I was a stakeholder as well as developer. We started with a Firebase backend and connected it to a React front end. It was built in 5 weeks utilizing several technologies I had never used before including but not limited to: Firebase, GoogleMaps API, and Algolia Search API.
